About Joe Sackey

Over the past 30 years, Joe has personally owned many classic cars including 5 Lamborghini Miura SVs (including the the factory production prototype SV, the ex-Shah of Iran SV, the USA prototype SV, the final USA production SV, the Barcelona Salon SV), 12 Lamborghini Countachs (every factory variant from LP400 to 25th Anniversary including the ex-Silvera LP400), a Diablo SE30 (the final USA delivered car), a Ferrari 288 GTO (ex-Jacques Swaters), 3 Ferrari F40s (including the ex-Paul Allen/Microsoft car), 3 Porsche 930 3.0 Turbo Carreras (including a USA prototype), a one-off Paint To Sample Porsche GT3 RS, and the ex-Patrick Mimran (former factory owner and Lamborghini CEO) Countach Downdraft.

His research & commitment towards several time consuming nut-and-bolt restorations has brought him the knowledge & experience that are invaluable to those seeking his expertise. His standards are high, and his straightforward, no-nonsense approach is reflected in his business style.

In 2000, Joe organized the first-ever Miura Reunion in celebration of the car’s 35th anniversary, celebrated during the famed Monterey weekend at The Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley, California. 31 Miuras attended, which is the largest gathering of Miuras to date. This special event is considered to have been an eye opener and sparked a renewed interest in what many consider the ‘original supercar’.

In 2009, Joe Sackey organized the Ferrari 288 GTO 25th Anniversary Reunion that was held in August in Monterey, California. The 15 participants set a world-record for the most 288 GTO’s gathered to date.

Joe is the author of two Internationally acclaimed hardcover books, entitled “The Lamborghini Miura Bible” and “The Book of the Ferrari 288 GTO”, the former published in English, French & German.”

He maintains private registries of the models he specializes in – Ferrari 288 GTO, F40, F50 & Enzo, Lamborghini Miura P400, P400S & SV, Countach LP400, LP400S and Downdraft. He has a keen eye for originality, is extremely knowledgeable on relevant historical information on all of the cars he represents, and has a finger on the pulse of the current marketplace. Please see his Testimonials.

In 2015 Joe’s UCLA-graduate son Sterling Sackey established his own automotive interests (Sterling Sackey Cars) and he consults as an asset to enhance our operation and help serve our clients interests better.

In 2021 Joe and Sterling founded Sackey & Co., using their depth of knowledge in the supercar and sports car market to curate exceptional vehicles and provide a comprehensive, world class service.
